Knowledge base: articles

An article starts as a draft. Every save creates a new revision, and readers see nothing until you publish one. This guide walks through writing, publishing and maintaining articles; arranging collections and categories is covered in .
1
Create an article
Open the
Articles
tab of your knowledge base page and click
Add article
. You can also add one from the
Content
tab: the menu of a collection or category has the same button, and the article is placed there right away.
  • Title — the heading readers see.
  • Slug — the reader URL: /articles/{slug}/. It does not depend on the collection, so the article can be moved freely. Changing the slug of an existing article leaves a redirect behind, so old links keep working.
  • Summary — one or two sentences shown in lists and search results.
  • Content — the article body in Markdown.
2
Write in Markdown
The editor shows a preview rendered by the server beside the text — exactly what readers will get. Warnings and broken links are listed under the field. A few things the renderer supports:
  • Callouts: > [!NOTE], as well as TIP, IMPORTANT, WARNING and CAUTION. The label is rendered in the page's language.
  • Links to other articles: [text](doc:<article uuid>). They point at the article's ID rather than its slug, so a rename never breaks them. The book button in the toolbar inserts one for you.
  • Files: ![alt](asset:<uuid>) for an image, [file](asset:<uuid>) for a document. The upload button in the toolbar does this for you.
  • A table of contents is built from headings 2–4 automatically.
  • HTML is not rendered — it appears as text. Images from other sites are blocked on private pages; upload the image instead.
## How to pay an invoice
> [!TIP]
> Invoices are due within 14 days.
1. Open **Billing** and pick the invoice.
2. Choose a payment method — see [Payment methods](doc:5d1c7c0e-8f2a-4b3e-9a6d-2b1f0c9e7a11).

Placement, tags and featured
  • Collection and Category decide where the article sits in the structure. Placement takes effect as soon as you save, but readers only see the article once it is published.
  • Tags are page-wide. Type a name to create one on the spot; every tag gets its own reader page at /tags/{slug}/. Renaming and removing tags happens on the
    Tags
    tab.
  • Featured highlights the article on the home page and in its collection.
Advanced Settings
hold the SEO title and SEO description, and — for an existing article — a Change note that is stored with the revision and shown in history.
4
Save and publish
Save draft
creates a new draft revision. Nothing changes for readers yet. Open the
Publication
tab to put it live:
  • Publish
    — the current draft goes live immediately. After further edits the article shows published with changes: readers keep seeing the previous revision until you publish again.
  • Schedule
    — pick a date and time; the draft as it is right now goes live automatically. If you edit the article after scheduling, the newer text will not go live unless you reschedule.
  • Unpublish
    — hides the article from the site; its address returns 404 and the draft is kept.
  • Archive
    — takes the article off the site and reserves its address, so an old link never points at somebody else's text. An archived article can be restored at any time.
There is no delete: archiving is how an article is retired.
5
Revision history
The
Revision history
tab lists every save with its number, date and change note, and marks which revision is live, scheduled or the current draft. Open any revision to read it, or restore it — restoring copies the old text forward as a new draft; history is never rewritten.
6
Related articles
The
Related articles
tab holds an ordered list shown under the article on the reader page. Add articles, drag them into the order you want and click Save list — the whole list is saved at once.
7
Working with many articles
The
Articles
tab lists every article of the page with filters by state and collection and a search by title. Tick several rows to publish, unpublish, archive or move them in one go.

Your first article is live — readers can find it now 🚀
